When eight-year-old Ronan sat down to write his holiday wish list this year, he asked for just one thing: enough to eat. Even though Ronan’s mom works hard as a teacher’s aide, there’s just not enough money to afford rent and utilities ... and food. Any time there’s an unplanned expense — like an emergency medical bill or car repair — she and Ronan go hungry.
Sadly, their family is not alone. Right now, more than 76,160 people in Northeast Pennsylvania are struggling with hunger.

With a gift today to Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, you can provide food to a hungry kid like Ronan — and his hardworking mom. More than 95 cents of every dollar we spend goes directly toward food distribution and nutrition education.

Your generosity can do even more good right now because an anonymous donor has generously promised to match every gift we receive by December 31 — dollar for dollar — up to $20,000. This means every $10 you donate doubles to $20, providing more help to people facing hunger. Most are children, women, hardworking low-income families, and senior citizens.

In the spirit of this season of giving, please make a gift today. Your kindness and caring will help provide holiday meals to our neighbors in need. Your support now could mean the difference between a holiday filled with hunger — and one filled with hope.

Why use the Virtual Food Drive?

Your donation goes further on the Virtual Food Drive! Thanks to the Food Bank's wholesale purchasing power and efficient distribution model, a gift made here provides more food than through a traditional food drive —– doubling or even tripling the amount of food your dollar can provide at the grocery store. Your donation will help us purchase more of our most-needed food items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and other sources of protein like peanut butter, and even fresh dairy products.
