Thanksgiving for All
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
The Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO), acknowledging the change in our community’s routine practices due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has adjusted distribution services for its 43rd Annual Thanksgiving Project.
To insure the safety of our many volunteers and those we serve, and reduce the risk spreading COVID-19, CEO will alter the program. In place of the traditional food packages, CEO will provide vouchers for a turkey to registered families throughout Luzerne and Wyoming counties. We are disappointed to have to change the format of our Annual Thanksgiving Project, but it is not safe to host a large-scale gathering of that size and bring potential risk to volunteers and participants alike.
This year’s Thanksgiving efforts will have the following procedures:
Registration is required and will be accepted beginning October 3rd
Registrations will close on October 28th
Find out more about registration here
Eligible families will receive a voucher by mail for a Thanksgiving turkey from a local grocery store. Instructions for redemption as well as the location will be included with the voucher.
Local food pantries will have additional food items available should families be in need. Check out this list of local pantries if you don't know where one is.
